Fruit Salad سلطة الفواكه

Fruit Salad سلطة الفواكه

fruit salad

Nothing beats the summer heat better than a refreshingly cold fruit salad, and this salad is made with not any regular juice rather it is drenched in a creamy mango smoothie sauce... which is crazy good on its own let alone mixed in with fresh fruit. This is THE fruit salad you will be making for your kids from now on and it looks amazingly good on any table when friends come over. Of course you can use any fruit you have available but I would suggest you mix fruits of different color and flavor. For me strawberries, kiwi and banana are a staple, and mango you cannot do without. The rest is up to you. Make sure to chop all the fruit into equal sizes to make it easier to spoon.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped green and red apples
  • 1 cup chopped peaches
  • 1 cup chopped mangoes
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup seedless grapes
  • 1 cup chopped banana
  • 1 cup chopped kiwi

For Mango smoothie:

  • 1 large ripe mango
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1 cup cold milk (or more if you like your smoothie thinner)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

For garnish:

  • Strawberries
  • Pomegranate
  • Grapefruit

*Start by making the mango smoothie. In a blender drop in the chopped ripe mango, ice cubes, milk and honey. The honey is optional, if your mango is ripe enough you might not need honey to sweeten it.

*Blend until completely smooth and set aside.

*Chop all your fruit into equal pieces and place into a bowl. You can start by chopping the fruit and then make the smoothie just make sure you squeeze some lemon or orange juice on the fruit that might change color like bananas and apples.

*Pour the smoothie on the fruit and garnish with red fruit like strawberries and pomegranate. Chill and enjoy!
